Rock the Vote, the largest non-profit and non-partisan organization in the United States building the political power of young people, is proud to mark this year’s National Voter Registration Day (NVRD)—a national day dedicated to registering people to vote that takes place each year on the fourth Tuesday of September—with several exciting new partnerships.

Rock the Vote has partnered with iHeartMedia to reach the largest media audience in America with 245 million broadcast listeners. The new partnership was revealed during the second night of the annual iHeartRadio Music Festival at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Arena by Ryan Seacrest, who hosts and produces “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” The 14-month partnership will revolve around the campaign, “Voting is the Party,” and include iHeartRadio artists, on-air talent, and listeners encouraging young people to register and vote in the 2016 presidential election.

“National Voter Registration Day is a day when every eligible U.S. citizen can celebrate their role in our democracy and get registered to vote,” said Ashley Spillane, Rock the Vote president. “We’re proud to continue our involvement with National Voter Registration Day and be the official online voter registration tool of NVRD. With the election heating up, we are also excited to be teaming with a media giant like iHeartMedia to inspire young people and first time voters to have their voices heard and be involved in shaping the nation’s future.”

In addition to iHeartMedia, Rock the Vote today launched a series of partnerships with artists, media outlets, elected officials and corporations, including Becky G, Lil Jon, iLoveMakonnen, “Orange is the New Black’s” Selenis Leyva, Wyclef Jean, The Skimm, Hello Giggles and the Independent Journal ( These activities will be supported by members of the Rock the Vote Leadership council including Reps. Will Hurd and Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Cory Booker, Grover Norquist and “Selma” director Ava DuVernay.

12,000 Americans are turning 18 every day and Millennials will total over 93 million next year, with the potential to comprise a decisive bloc of up to 40% of the voting electorate.

Rock the Vote is part of a working group of diverse, non-partisan group organizations providing coordination and support to the day, including the Bipartisan Policy Center, League of Women Voters, Bus Federation, Rock the Vote, Voto Latino, Asian Pacific Labor Alliance, Fair Elections Legal Network, Nonprofit VOTE and National Association of Secretaries of State represented by Secretary of State John Merrill (R- AL) and Secretary of State Steve Simon (D -MN).
